Kyiv, June 26 (Interfax-Ukraine ) - Archasia Design Group Limited (Taiwan), which won a tender to reconstruct the Olimpiysky National Sports Complex in Kyiv, has said there are no legal grounds to choose a new company to rebuild the stadium.
"There are no legal grounds for the Family, Youth and Sports Ministry of Ukraine to make such announcements. The position of the government regarding the tender does not foresee this," a lawyer from the Vasil Kisil&Partners law company Viktor Prorok said at a press conference in the Interfax-Ukraine news agency on Thursday.
He noted that "there is no legal problem, the problem lies in another area".
He said Archasia Design Group Ltd. might take the case to court if there were illegal actions by the ministry.
"We do not exclude that they [Archasia Design Group Ltd.] will take legal measures, and apply to the courts. They have already submitted a petition to China's Embassy in Ukraine asking for it to protect their rights," he added.
Prorok added that according to Ukrainian legislation, the Prosecutor General's Office could not contest the decision of the tender jury on choosing the company for the reconstruction of the Olimpiysky National Sports Complex.
