PRESS RELEASE: DLA Piper announced the results of the semifinal of the all-Ukraine scholarship competition for law students 2008

Kyiv – Lawyers of the Kyiv office of DLA Piper, a global legal services provider, finalized the initial evaluation of the students' papers, submitted in the first round of the DLA Piper All-Ukraine Scholarship Competition for Law Students 2008.  As a result of the 1st round, semifinalists of this year Competition are: Alina Bas, Kateryna Berko, Oleksandra Karpenko, Liliya Kostuchenko, Olga Kroytor, Vadym Lygin, Julia Muravska, Oleksandr Pankiv, Iryna Popika, Olena Popova, Oleksandra Sandulenko, Andriy Snitko, Iryna Fedorovych, Oleh Fedusiv, Fatima Khanieva, Vitaliy Khilko. "According to the conditions of the Competition, we had to identify 20 best papers from the whole mass which was submitted, but we had only chose 16 for semifinal.  Half of these were dedicated to the problems of land relations in Ukraine and the second half – to controversial issues of corporate law of Ukraine.  Papers on financial issues and on IP were quite weak, so we declined them in semifinal," comments Margarita Karpenko, Managing Partner of DLA Piper in Kyiv.
Agro-Soyuz has started sales of HOWO trucks

  Agro-Soyuz Company has started official sales of HOWO trucks (China) in Ukraine. This machinery has gained a good reputation in Russia and Kazakhstan. The number of HOWO trucks being sold in Ukraine doubles every year. Following the results of 2007 this brand took second place in sales in Russia among trucks of foreign manufacturers second only to Scania. In June Agro-Soyuz presented HOWO tippers at the largest exhibitions in Ukraine –"Agro-2008" in Kiev and "Commercial transport-2008" in Lvov. The first lot of HOWO tippers and mixers have been presented at Agro-Soyuz expo-centre in Dnepropetrovsk, where the vehicles can be examined and test driven. Orders for buying the vehicles are registered in all 120 Agro-Soyuz subsidiaries in Ukraine. As an official representative of HOWO o manufacturing plant and providing full range of service for its clients, Agro-Soyuz counts on successful trucks sales.
A world brand of agricultural technique Massey Ferguson accomplished 50 years

  Brand of AGCO Ñorporation - Massey Ferguson, which partner in Ukraine is a company AMACO, accomplished 50 years. After half a century of existence of brand only red colour of machines stay unchanging, but technologies develop every year, that allows machinery Massey Ferguson to remain one of the best in the world. Recently presidency of AGCO declared about a decision to make the brand of Massey Ferguson a leader in Europe on the production of farming machines that supports oneself the solid production program. "Today we got the best product line for all the time. But we don’t slack off and permanently are in condition of brand new models", - Richard Markvell, vice-president of corporation AGCO and CEO Massey Ferguson, sad when he make a speech on celebration in French town Beauvais. Farming machines entered the Ukraine market in 90th and since that time is in steady demand for buyers, notes Vitaliy Skotsyk, General Director of AMACO Company.
The fist Tournament of Kiev Golf Club brought together 72 participants

  Long two years work of course managers and architects of GolfStream Project was marked by a presentation of the first finished product. To honor of this event, on July 12, 2008, the club held its first official Tournament - "Park Course Opening". It is well known that big sport golf courses in Ukraine can be counted on one hand fingers. That is why the surprise GolfStream team presented for golf admirers is quite unique. Park Course combines all qualities of a universal ground "to launch" all possible golf events. It is a traditional course for 9 holes with classical square tees, some sand and water bunkers. Golf Club considers it to be "the easiest" and mostly a course for novices and amateurs. Still, individual and inimitable design of greens should become interesting for advanced players, who can play and find interesting sport challenges on the course not waiting until classical 9 holes Club Course and champion 18 holes Chamberlain Course are open.
Interfax-Ukraine press conferences broadcast live on Era-FM radio

The Interfax-Ukraine news agency and Era-FM radio station started implementing a project to broadcast live press conferences from the agency's press center in September 2007.The hosting of conferences will be possible at 12.30 from Monday until Friday. Broadcasting on the Era-FM network continues for half an hour, while the rest of the time the press conference is held as before.The use of the proposed format helps combine contact with journalists and the possibility of direct contact with the audience of Ukraine's only talk-radio format station.According to media market research, the placement of information is more effective on radio than on TV during daylight hours. The listeners of Era-FM day programs are passengers in cars and routed taxicabs in all Ukrainian regional centers, while the rating of daytime broadcasting on TV information channels doesn't exceed 0.

Advent of golf into "The High Life" of Ukraine

On June 14, 2008 there was the second planned presentation of Kiev Golf Club. A week before this event the Club was introduced to public officials of Ukraine, diplomatic corps representatives, international missions and organizations and to trade representative offices. The news on this unique and unprecedented series of events ran around the high world of Ukraine. Namely, honoured and the most known representatives of that level composed the main part of guests during the given presentation, which organizers nominally called "glamorous". Selection of presentation co-organizers such as "High Life" TV Project and Katerina Osadcha in the role of a facilitator matched the above.About 300 people visited the event, which surpassed expectations of the organizers. Many press and TV men attended it too.It must be said that there was one more condition that defines a presentation style.
Ukrainian Interbank Currency Exchange signs Letter of Intent with NASDAQ OMX

  Kiev, June 9, 2008 — The Ukrainian Interbank Currency Exchange CJSC announced today that it has signed a Letter of Intent with NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. for co-operation with the focus of further developing the Ukrainian capital markets. In the Letter, the two parties agree that the development and strengthening of the Ukrainian capital markets needs to be based on European standards. The aim of the agreement is to increase the visibility, attractiveness and access to Ukrainian securities by increasing the efficiency and liquidity of the Ukrainian capital markets. A key focus will be to create a reliable and well functioning market, based on NASDAQ OMX technology and trading systems and built in line with international standards. "The Ukrainian capital market has huge potential, but is fragmented and inefficient.
