Gazprom will not fine Ukraine for taking less than the stipulated volume of gas in June, the Russian gas giant's chief executive Alexei Miller told a press conference.
"Ukraine was supposed to take 3.4 billion cubic meters of gas, but only took 1.1 billion cubic meters, more than three times less than the contract states," he said.
"Gazprom will not impose penalties for not taking as much gas as contracts state and it will pay for what gas it did take. This was worth just under $300 million. Payment will be made and there will be no disruptions with June payments," Miller said.
