Mykolaiv maritime merchant port on June 26 launched a complex for processing timber into woodchips, the port's press service has said.
The capacity of the complex is 700,000 tonnes a year.
The complex can process timber with lengths of up to six meters and diameters of up to 100 centimeters.
Mykolaiv port is located on a territory of 97.3 hectares and has a water area of 224.5 hectares. The port is connected with the sea by the Bug and Dnieper firth channel. The length of the channel is 44 miles, and its width is 100 meters.
The port has 15 berths with a total length of 2,962 meters.
