Ukraine's state budget deficit in January-May 2009 came to UAH 2.725 billion ($356.65 million at its current rate), the Finance Ministry said in a statement posted on its website.
State budget revenue came to UAH 88.599 million (7.6405 hryvni/$1 on July 1, 2009) while expenditures reached UAH 90.707 billion. Revenues and expenditures do no include the allocation and payment of loans.
For January-April, the state budget deficit came to UAH 2.712 billion. It was earlier reported that the deficit came to UAH 333.4 million in the first three months of the year and UAH 281.2 million in January-February.
The statement also said that the Ukraine's unified budget (state and local budgets) for January-May was implemented with a deficit come to UAH 3.162 billion, a decrease of 9.5% from the first four months of the year.
Revenue to the state budget for 2009 was approved at UAH 238.9 billion with expenditures standing at UAH 267.4 billion. The maximum deficit for the state budget was set at UAH 31.2 billion.
The state budget deficit is tabulated as the difference in revenues and returned loans against expenditures and allocated state budget funds.
