The signing of international agreements between Slovakia, Ukraine, Russia and Hungary on the transit of nuclear materials through Ukraine will be signed in 2009, the head of the state committee for nuclear regulation of Ukraine, Elena Mykolaychuk, told the press on Thursday.
"I think that in 2009 everything will be done," she said.
Mykolaychuk said that earlier, the signing of the agreements was scheduled for 2008. She said that the delay with the signing of the agreements was linked with the restructuring of the Russian nuclear and industrial complex and the issuing of new European Union directives on the transit of cargo through EU states.
