CJSC Datagroup (Kyiv) is intending in 2010 to invest $1 million in expanding the capacity of its own networks, according to a press release by the operator.
In the first stage of its expansion project, the company will by the end of March launch the Kyiv-Dnipropetrovsk-Zaporizhia-Simferopol-Mykolaiv-Kyiv, the Kyiv-Lviv, and the Mykolaiv-Odesa channels.
The operator plans in the second stage of the project by the end of May to expand the capacity of the Simferopol-Yevpatoria-Sevastopol, and the Zaporizhia-Melitopol-Berdiansk-Mariupol networks up to 10 Gbps, and during the third stage to expand the capacity of the Dnipropetrovsk-Donetsk-Kharkiv channel up to 10 Gbps.
According to the press release, the realization of the project will expand Datagroup's network capacity to 20 Gbps in its main routes.
Datagroup was formed through the merger of a number of Kyiv and regional communication operators. It is one of the largest non-state fixed-line telephone operators.
The company has its own trunk optic fiber network with a length of 11,500 kilometers in all regions of Ukraine. The company provides services in 19 cities of Ukraine.
