According to tentative data, UAH 24-28 billion will be needed to implement a law on increasing social standards and the funds will be foreseen in a new draft national budget for 2010, Ukrainian Vice Premier Sergiy Tigipko has said.
"I will have a meeting on the preparation of a budget strategy. I believe we will be able to find the money foreseen for increasing social standards. We calculated over these two days [after the appointment of the government] that about UAH 24-28 billion are needed for this purpose, and we will find the money in the budget," Tigipko said on ICTV channel.
Tigipko said that "there has never been such a bad situation" with state revenues in the country, as the shortage of the 2009 national budget revenues, planned at a level of UAH 950 billion, is about UAH 101 billion.
As reported, the law on the increase in social standards adopted in November 2009 set a living wage of UAH 701 per capita from November 1, 2009, UAH 825 from January 1, 2010, UAH 839 from April 1, UAH 843 from July 1, UAH 861 from October 1, and UAH 875 from December 1, 2010.
