Ukraine to enact new tax code in 2011

Ukraine's tax code, which the Yanukovych government drafted when it was in power in 2006-2007, will be enacted on January 1, 2011, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said.

Yanukovych said in Simferopol on Friday that he had asked Azarov to introduce the new code to the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament.

"I think we will improve this new code rapidly. The government, the prime minister [are charged with] considering this issue and determining the terms for the consideration and adoption of this new code," Yanukovych said.
