Over 1,200 construction companies liquidated in Ukraine in 2009, says ministry

A total of 1,222 construction companies were liquidated in Ukraine in 2009, according to materials from the Regional Development and Construction Ministry drawn up for a meeting held in Kyiv on Friday on financing housing construction.

In 2009, some 112,000 workers were dismissed.

The ministry said that as of January 1, 2010, around 58,000 companies engaged in the conduction sphere were registered in Ukraine, including 544 state-run companies.
