A total of 5.635 million people spent their holidays in Crimea in 2008, which is 1.7% down against 2007, the press service of the Crimean Culture and Tourism Ministry said on Tuesday.
The number of holidaymakers in Crimea was 5.731 million in 2007.
According to executive committees and district administrations of resort regions, a total of 1.264 million people spent their holidays in Crimean resorts and tourist establishments, which is 0.4% down against 2007 (1.269 million people in 2007).
The number of operating resort complexes and tourist enterprises on the peninsula was 134 by late 2008 (128 in 2007), with visiting ratio of 29% (37.2% in 2007).
