Sale price of primary housing in Kyiv down 48%, on secondary down 33.2% in 2008

The average sale price per square meter of one- to three-room apartments fell by 47.9%, to $1,194 on the primary market in Kyiv from January 1 to December 30, 2008, according to the report by the SV Development consulting company.

Falls in sales prices of primary housing were observed in all districts of Kyiv, and Desniansky district remained the cheapest, with an average price of $1,007 per square meter, while Pechersky district was the most expensive, with an average price of $2,290 per square meter.

The sharpest decline in sales prices for primary housing over the period was recorded in Podilsky district – 60.99%, to an average price of $1,003 per square meter, and the lowest decline was observed in Obolonsky district, which saw a fall of 36.19%, to $1,905 per square meter.

According to the company's report, from January 1 till December 30, 2008, the average sale price for one- to three-room apartments on the secondary market in Kyiv fell by 33.23%, to $2,297 per square meter.

Falls in sales prices of secondary housing were observed in all districts of Kyiv, and Desniansky district remained the cheapest area on the secondary market in Kyiv, with an average price of $1,788 per square meter, the most expensive was Pechersky district, at $3,741 per square meter.

The sharpest decline in sales prices for secondary housings over the period was recorded in Podilsky district – 38.87%, to an average price of $2,065 per square meter, and the lowest decline was observed in Pechersky district, which saw a fall of 25.16%, to $3,741 per square meter meters.
