SPF to get not less than UAH 12 b from sale of Ukrtelecom

The starting price of a 92.79% state stake in OJSC Ukrtelecom should not be less than UAH 12 billion, Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPF) Oleksandr Riabchenko has said.

"The price won't be lower than UAH 12 billion. Currently the capitalization of the state stake of 93% is UAH 10.4 billion. It is not growing very fast, but it is still growing. In winter, in February, it was approximately UAH 7.6 billion," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.

Along with that, the SPF head said he could not clarify when a tender would be announced, referring to the fact that the transport ministry had not passed the state stake to the SPF.

"Ukrtelecom will be privatized. But a tender won't be announced in September, as we won't manage [to do it]," he said.

Riabchenko said that now two Russian companies and one European banking consortium are interested in the purchase of Ukrtelecom.
