Ukraine to start privatization of energy companies by late 2010, says SPF head

The State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPF) plans to announce tenders to sell two out of the four state-run heat generating companies by late 2010, the fund's head, Oleksandr Riabchenko, said on September 6 on the Fifth TV Channel.

He said that the other two companies would be put up for sale in 2011.

He did not disclose other details, although he added that money from the sale of the first two companies could be received this year.

As for privatization of Ukrtelecom, Riabchenko called on the public not to dramatize the possible postponement of its privatization until the first half of 2011.
