Nuclear power plants of the National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom in January and February 2009 tentatively cut electricity generation by 14.1% or by 2.412 billion kWh year-on-year, to 14.682 billion kWh, Energoatom told Interfax-Ukraine last week.
In the two months, the electricity generation target was over-fulfilled by 0.6%.
Zaporizhia NPP last year cut electricity generation by 12.2%, and Khmelnytsky NPP increased generation by 51.5%, while Rivne NPP cut electricity generation by 26.7%, and Yuzhnoukrainsk NPP, taking into account Tashlyk hydro power plant and Oleksandrivka hydro power plant, cut electricity generation by 35.1%.
In the first two months, electricity transmission of Energoatom's NPPs fell by 14.3% or by 2.302 billion kWh, to 13.836 billion kWh.
