Verkhovna Rada Deputy Chairman Mykola Tomenko has said that Belarus should become a fully-fledged member of the Eastern Partnership program proposed by the European Union.
He said this on Wednesday, while opening a meeting of the inter-parliamentary commission for cooperation between Ukraine and Belarus, which he co-chairs.
"Today, the Eastern Partnership program is a topical subject... We are interested in Belarus becoming a fully-fledged participant of this program. We believe that this will allow us to work more effectively in the system of the countries that are being proposed by the European Union as participants of this initiative. I fully support making Belarus a participant of this project. This will help us remove many problems facing European states," Tomenko said.
