The demands of Somali pirates who seized the German ship Hansa Stavanger, operated by Hamburg-based Leonhardt & Blumberg, with two Ukrainians on board, remain unknown, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service reported on Wednesday.
The shipowner is in contact with the families of the Ukrainian sailors and is informing them about the situation with the ship, the press service said.
The company operating the vessel is in constant contact with all of the concerned German agencies, including the anti-crisis headquarters set up by the German Federal Foreign Office.
As reported, Somali pirates hijacked the Hansa Stavanger in the Indian Ocean between Kenya and the Seychelles on April 5.
Two Ukrainians, three Russians, and 14 citizens of the Philippines are on board the ship.
The captain of the vessel is a native of Germany.
