Farming has become the only sector of Ukraine's economy, which sees growth compared to the same period last year, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
She was speaking during a meeting on farm sector development on Thursday in Kyiv.
"Yesterday we received the farming sector output report for January, February and March 2009 and the data for the same period last year. This is the only sector of Ukraine's economy to show some growth, which is 1.7%," the prime minister said.
She said that despite the global financial crisis "framers have enough strength to carry on."
