The Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko members have given up their twelve seats in Ternopil regional council, head of Ternopil regional election commission Natalia Chuiko has said.
According to Chuiko, twelve MPs of the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko elected to the council filed in their resignation letters. Besides, all the candidates on the BYT election list signed the statement expressing their non-desire to be members of the regional council. Thus, the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko refused from the seats in Ternopil regional council.
As a result, the number of deputies currently working in the regional Ternopil council is 208. "However, the overall number of mandates in the council still constitutes 120, and all the decisions taken by the majority of the council could be passed by no less then 61 votes," the head of Ternopil regional election commission said.
