The heads of the parliamentary factions will once again convene for a conciliatory council on Tuesday to decide on the procedure for considering Ukrainian Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko's resignation letter.
Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn said this at a conciliatory council meeting on Tuesday.
The speaker said he sent a relevant query to the Interior Ministry.
"As soon as it [the reply from the Interior Ministry] comes, we will gather for a conciliatory council," Lytvyn said.
Leaders of most parliamentary factions believe they should listen to Lutsenko's explanations before deciding on his resignation. The Regions Party, however, is calling for the immediate dismissal of the minister.
At the same time, head of the Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense faction Mykola Martynenko said his faction will not vote for the dismissal of Lutsenko as interior minister.
Meanwhile, Regions Party members are blocking the parliament rostrum. Posters have been put up all over the session hall, reading, "Can a drunken minister remain in politics?" "A drunken minister is a disgrace to the country," and "The Interior Ministry is not a drunk tank."
