The council of the Kyiv city branch of the Our Ukraine People's Union party, headed by Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense Bloc MP Mykola Martynenko, and the branch's control and revision commission have decided to quit the party with a unanimous majority on July 1, and called on all of their party fellows in Kyiv to decide on their membership in the Our Ukraine party.
The council of the Kyiv city branch of the Our Ukraine People's Union party said this in a statement released by the party's city branch on Thursday.
"The 7th party congress has buried the last hopes of Our Ukraine party members in Kyiv for the democratic development of Our Ukraine," reads the statement.
"Unfortunately, the servicing of the political egoism of party chairman Viktor Yuschenko has finally become the purpose of the party's existence," reads the statement.
