Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko has demanded that the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, take away the deputy immunity of Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko (BYT) MP Viktor Lozinsky, Presidential Press Secretary Iryna Vannykova has said.
"The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine should immediately consider the question of taking away deputy immunity from BYT MP Lozinsky," she said at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.
She also said that the president had sent a respective letter to Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn.
Vannykova also said that the president was overseeing this investigation.
The president demanded that investigators conduct high-quality work and added that he would do his best for this case to be investigated as soon as possible, she said.
