Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko has said there is a need to lower inflation in the country to single digits.
He was speaking at a meeting dedicated to the development of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea held in Simferopol on Friday.
"There is a single way to combat inflation - to lower it from the existing level. Single-digit inflation will be acceptable for any business," Yuschenko explained.
Unless the government lowers the inflation from the last year's level of 23%, the economy will not stand such pressure, Yuschenko said.
The head of state also said that the current inflation level is seriously destabilizing Ukraine's economy.
