If the presidential election is held on Sunday this week, Leader of the Regions Party Viktor Yanukovych would receive 22% of the vote, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko would get 13% while Head of the Front for Changes initiative Arseniy Yatseniuk would receive 11% of the votes.
These are results of July poll held by the Razumkov Center and announced by Director of the center's Social Programs Department Liudmyla Shanhina in her article for the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia weekly newspaper.
According to the poll, Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko and Leader of the Communist Party of Ukraine Petro Symonenko would receive 4% of the vote each. The head of the eponymous bloc and Parliamentary Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn would receive 3%.
However, 10% of respondents said they would not participate in the election, while some 15% said they are not sure whether to participate or not.
The poll was conducted on July 20-28, 2009. Some 2006 people over 18 were polled in all regions of Ukraine. The poll's average margin of error is 2.3%.
