A Ukrainian Navy corvette, the Ternopil, has completed its patrol operations in the Mediterranean as part of NATO-led Operation Active Endeavor, and will set course for Sevastopol on December 7, the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported on Friday.
Following its patrol mission, the corvette entered the Greek naval base of Souda Bay to take on fuel and food.
The Ternopil is planning to return to Ukraine's main naval base on December 10.
The NATO-led anti-terrorist Operation Active Endeavor has been conducted in the Mediterranean since October 2001, following the attacks on the United States on September 11.
Ukraine is the second partner state of the alliance, after Russia, to participate in this operation.
