There is no alternative to joining the European security policy, Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko, who is running for a second term in office, has said at a meeting with his electorate in Kherson.
"I am leading the country to the European institutions, because I am believe that they will be really pursuing Ukraine's interests… This is the policy with which Ukraine will win," the president said.
He stressed that not the president alone is responsible for the security policy in the country. Ukraine should hold the dialog taking into account the opinions of the people, who support the country's joining to collective security policy and of those, who disagree with it, the president said.
Yuschenko said that this was his first meeting as a presidential candidate with his electors.
