Greek fans who bought 1,000 tickets for the second leg of the 2010 World Cup play-off between Ukraine and Greece have refused to travel to Donetsk due to the flu outbreak in Ukraine, Director General of CJSC Ukraine Football International Oleh Shkreba has told the Ukrainian service of Deutsche Welle.
Ukrainian Football Federation spokesman Serhiy Vasylyev, in turn, said that the federation had ensured that 60,000 facemasks were available for the match in Donetsk.
The press service of the Donbass Arena stadium reported that all of the stadium's employees would be masked during the match.
Other measures linked to the epidemiological situation have not been taken.
The first leg of the 2010 World Cup play-off between Ukraine and Greece ended in a 0-0 draw in Athens on November 14.
The second leg will take place at the Donbass Arena stadium in Donetsk on Wednesday, November 18. Around 400 police officers will maintain public order during the match. UEFA representatives will check the maintenance of public order during the match in Donetsk.
