Ukraine has signed a number of documents during the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Governments in Yalta, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said at a press conference following the council's meeting.
Ukraine supports all the documents that were developed today for more intensive energy sector cooperation among CIS member-states," she said.
The documents signed by Ukraine at the meeting included an agreement on joint efforts aimed at overcoming the consequences of the world financial crisis, the implementation of which should play a very important part in recovery of the CIS economies, she said.
The premier also said that the agreement about the coordinated development of international transport corridors was signed at the meeting. This agreement is of strategic importance to Ukraine, Tymoshenko added.
In addition, the CIS premiers signed a decision about various guidelines for cooperation in the innovation sector.
"We believe that this is one of the main areas, one that enables our countries to keep abreast of the development of the main scientific themes and achievements in that field. We have had a separate discussion about that today," Tymoshenko said.
A separate document aimed at strengthening efforts on fighting HIV/AIDS was signed at the summit, the premier said.
All the documents signed during the summit are of strategic importance to all the members of the CIS, the premier concluded.
