Kyiv to present logo, motto for Euro 2012 on December 14

The presentation of the logo of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship will take place in Kyiv on December 14, Ukrainian Football Federation President Hryhoriy Surkis has said.

"The logo will be presented on December 14 ... and the tournament itself actually starts from this [date]. We'll develop the infrastructure and start work on preparations for hosting the tournament itself," he said at a press conference on Tuesday.

He also said that the logo had been designed by Ukrainian experts along with UEFA colleagues.

Surkis said that it had taken over a year to design the logo.

He also said that apart from the logo, the motto of the championship would also be presented on December 14.

"I've already learned about it, I like it, but I cannot announce it yet," he said, adding that the presentation of a new logo would take place on Mykhailivska Square in downtown Kyiv.
