The Regions Party has said it does not believe that a coalition between the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko, the Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense Bloc, and the Bloc of Lytvyn will improve the situation in the country, and said it would like to listen to explanations from the Communist Party regarding its support for Volodymyr Lytvyn as speaker.
"We do not believe a so-called coalition will be effective, not only due to the absence of the necessary number of votes. We do not trust this coalition, because it is based on politicians who have twice proved their inability together, work effectively and resolve vital issues for the country," reads a statement released by the presidium of the party's political council, which was posted on the party's Web site on Wednesday.
The party said that the newly created "old team" would not improve the situation in Ukraine.
"Instead of rapid and effective actions from a professional team, Ukraine will again be obliged to observe a scandalous show of orange leaders, as in 2005, who are ready to cut each other's throats with a feather," reads the statement.
Moreover, the Regions Party said it would like to hear to a clear position from the communists and why they were motivated to support an orange coalition.
