Opposition urges cut of expenditure on presidential secretariat, parliament and government

The Regions Party faction has called for an urgent cut in spending on the presidential secretariat, the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers, Regions Party Leader Viktor Yanukovych said at an opening of the opposition government on Thursday.

"We will submit an issue of decreasing spending on the presidential secretariat, the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers and all ministries without exceptions.

Yanukovych said the faction also insists on a cut in expenditures for all institutions in all regions.

According to him, the money saved should be allocated to pensions, unemployment payments, and also other social programs.

Yanukovych also said the Regions Party would insist that this issue be put on the agenda of the parliament plenary session on Friday.
