Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has insisted that checks be immediately conducted with the financial state of Kyiv-based national joint-stock insurance company Oranta.
The head of government issued a corresponding order to the leadership of the Interior Ministry, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the State Commission for the Regulation of Financial Services Markets, the government's press service reported on Friday.
Tymoshenko focused on misleading reports regarding the unsatisfactory financial state of the Oranta insurance company.
She said that the spreading of this information would have a negative effect both on the company's activities and on the country's financial and economic system.
Tymoshenko ordered the abovementioned structures, involving the Prosecutor General's Office, to immediately check these reports and take measures to prevent the discrediting of the company.
She said those involved in illegal activities should be punished in line with current law.
