Parliament approves law on state administration in sphere of topographic, geodesic and cartographic activity

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved a law aimed at improving state administration in the sphere of topographic, geodesic and cartographic activity.
A total of 281 out of 415 MPs registered in the parliament supported amendments to the law on topographic, geodesic and cartographic activity.
The law proposes to boost the powers of the Cabinet of Ministers in new spheres of topographic, geodesic and cartographic activity.
The law also proposes to boost the authorities of a specially authorized central agency of the executive power for the issues of topographic, geodesic and cartographic activity during the introduction of prospective directions of development of national cartography.
The law also determines a specially authorized central agency of the executive power for issues of topographic, geodesic and cartographic activity and other agencies of the executive power as members of administration of the cartographic and geodesic fund.
