Ukrainian sportsmen take part in Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Vancouver

Ukrainian athletes took part in an opening ceremony of Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.

The official ceremony took place on the BC Place Stadium on Saturday night Kyiv time.

The Ukrainian team was the 70th presenting the country.

Luge athlete Lilia Ludan was carrying the Ukrainian flag.

Forty seven athletes represent Ukraine on the Winter Olympics in nine sports – biathlon, cross-country skiing, freestyle, figure skating, luge, ski jumping, snowboarding, Nordic combined, alpine skiing.

The Winter Olympics will be held for 17 days.

At 1805 on February 13 the First National TV Channel will broadcast the opening ceremony.

Time difference for Kyiv and Vancouver is ten hours.
