he adoption by the European Parliament of a resolution that helps Ukraine apply for membership of the European Union is a sign of support for all of Ukraine's integration aspirations, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said.
She said this at a meeting with European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek in Kyiv on Thursday.
"I want to thank the European Parliament for voting for a special resolution on Ukraine, and I see this as support for all of Ukraine's European aspirations and strategies... This is a long-awaited signal that Kyiv may apply for EU membership, which is a very important signal for all Ukrainian citizens," Tymoshenko said.
She also said that the signing of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement would be completed in 2010 and that the agreement would become "a roadmap for relations between Ukraine and the EU."
Buzek, in turn, thanked Tymoshenko for Euro-integration line followed by her at the post of prime minister.
