For Ukraine! group of deputies not in coalition talks

For Ukraine! group of deputies who represent the Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense (OU-PSD) faction is not holding any talks with the Regions Party or the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko on the creation of a parliamentary coalition, For Ukraine! Party Deputy Head Kseniya Liapina has said.

"For Ukraine! group has not participated in today's meeting of MPs from the OU-PSD faction. We see no point in attending meetings when the major talk is about what posts will be taken by somebody and how it is better to trade in posts," the party's press service quoted her as saying.

Liapina said that the party's political council had decided not to join a coalition with the Regions Party. The decision taken by the party's political council says that numerous statements by Regions Party leader Viktor Yanukovych regarding the transfer of the Ukrainian gas transportation system, the extension of the date of the Russian Black Sea Fleet's stationing in Crimea, the cancellation of independent testing, and granting a national status to the Russian language convinced the party that Yanukovych and his political force were not guided by national interests.
