Herman: Yanukovych's first national trip as president will be to Kaniv

Viktor Yanukovych's first national trip as Ukrainian president could be to the town of Kaniv in Cherkasy region on March 9, Deputy Head of Ukraine's Presidential Administration Hanna Herman said in Brussels on Monday.

She said that Yanukovych was planning to hold a council at the Kaniv Nature Reserve regarding its reconstruction.

Herman said that the Ukrainian president had decided to immediately start reconstruction work. She said that this work would be conducted using the funds of sponsors.

She said that Yanukovych was also planning to meet with the laureates of the Shevchenko prize in Kyiv and present awards to new laureates.
