Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed amendments to the law on the Verkhovna Rada's regulations foreseeing that a parliamentary coalition can be formed by factions and certain MPs, the presidential press service has reported.
Yanukovych signed the law after meeting with the leaders of parliamentary factions, the press service said.
"We need to find the political will to create a majority in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The Ukrainian community and our partners around the world expect political stability in our state," Yanukovych said while addressing the leaders of factions.
"After the discussion that was held with the participation of the parliament's chairman, the Ukrainian president signed the law on the regulations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine," the press service said.
Yanukovych stressed the importance of forming a parliamentary majority and an effective government as soon as possible.
