Lavrov, Hryschenko discuss preparations for Kyiv meeting of bilateral presidential commission

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is going to visit Kyiv, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told a press conference after talks with Ukrainian counterpart Kostiantyn Hryschenko.

"Today we have agreed on the schedule of meetings between all agencies in charge of ensuring the productive conduct of the next session of the bilateral commission timed to coincide with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's visit to Kyiv," Lavrov said.

Talks with Hryschenko focused on the implementation of the agreements reached during Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych's visit to Moscow, Lavrov said.

"They consist in reviving and raising the efficiency of all our cooperation mechanisms, including those which, for the reasons beyond our control, have not been very actively employed recently," Lavrov said.

These include, in particular, preparations for the third session of the bilateral commission led by the two presidents, he added.
