President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych will take part in the 10th Economic Forum, which will be held in Lviv and Truskavets in October, Lviv Regional State Administration Head Vasyl Horbal said on Thursday during the administration's meeting.
"I am pleased that the president agreed to participate in the forum. We are also working on inviting presidents of several neighboring countries to take part in the forum," he said.
Horbal also noted that Lviv region saw a 0.9% industrial growth in the first half of 2010. He said this is not a large figure, but it shows that "the situation in the region is stabilizing and that the right decisions are being taken. He also noted that the region's export was almost 42% up from the first half of last year.
The governor also stressed that one of the main tasks of the authorities is to withdraw the regional economy from the shadow.
