SBU finds threats to Yanukovych in postings by Ukrainian blogger

Materials containing threats against Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych were posted in a blog maintained by a Ukrainian citizen, Oleh Shynkarenko, on LiveJournal Web site.

During the search operations the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) received the information that the materials containing threats against the Ukrainian president were posted on the Web site and found out that they were posted by Oleh Shynkarenko, the SBU's press center reported on Friday.

Since Shynkarenko's actions contained certain signs of a crime under Article 346 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine about a threat or violence against the state or public figure, the materials were sent to the prosecutor's office, press center said.

The SBU officers handed Shynkarenko an invitation for an interview and brought him to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the report says.
