A sexton, who is suspected of organizing an explosion at the Intercession Church in Zaporizhia, has admitted his guilt, the Segodnia (Today) newspaper reported referring to a source in the regional branch of the Interior Ministry.
At the same time, the Interior Ministry hasn't yet confirmed this information to Interfax-Ukraine explaining this by the fact that the investigation continues.
The suspect previously worked in this church, collecting donations from parishioners, but was fired when he was caught stealing money.
As reported, an explosion occurred at the Intercession Church (subordinate to Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate) in the center of Zaporizhia at around 1630 on July 28. Nine people were injured in the blast, and an injured died later in hospital.
A criminal case on the blast was opened. Several people were detained on suspicion of organizing the blast.
