Minister-Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Ukraine Vsevolod Loskutov has called on Ukrainian publishers to promote their books more actively on the Russian market of literature.
"At Moscow International Book Fair, for instance, and this is one of the largest book exhibitions in the world, Russians are eagerly buying books that are published in Ukraine, moreover they are selling like hot cakes. You simply need to publish more, to bring more books here, including those in the Ukrainian language," he said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
Loskutov also added that the Ukrainian Book Shop should be revived in the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Arbat Street. The Ukrainian book shop was formerly very popular in the Russian capital, the minister-counselor said.
"I think that we can help the case," he added.
Loskutov believes that books published in Ukraine are in demand in Russia.
