The Regions Party will not be able to participate in the upcoming local elections in more than ten villages of Kozelschansky district in Poltava region, according to a posting on the official Web site of the justice department of Poltava region.
Branches of the Regions Party in these populated areas were registered less than one year before the elections, either in November 2009, or in the spring of 2010.
In particular, this concerns such villages as Lutovynivka, Trudovyk, Oleksandrivka, Velyka Bezuhlivka, Breusivka, Myrhorodschyna, Horoshky, Horbani, Omelnyche, Hotva, Olenivka, as well as the towns of Kozelschyna and Nova Haleschyna.
The following parties were also registered less than a year ago: the Dykanka district party organization of the Svoboda All-Ukrainian Association, the Dykanka district party organization of the For Ukraine! Party, and the Dykanska district party organization of the Ukrainian Framing Democratic Party. The Agrarian Party of Ukraine can participate in the elections in three villages of Dykanka district.
As reported, the Verkhovna Rada, Ukrainian parliament, set the next elections of deputies to local councils and village, town, and city mayors for October 31, 2010. The election process will begin 50 days before the elections, on September 11. The Central Election Commission is to officially announce the start of the election process, but not later than five working days before the elections.
