The total registered population of Kyiv will reach 3.1-3.3 million people by 2026, and its actual population will amount to 3.7-3.9 million people, according to a study by the Kyiv-based Center for Urban Design and Architecture Municipal Company, referring to forecasts by experts from the Institute for Demography and Social Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
The registered and actual population of the capital (Kyiv city, plus suburbs and satellite towns) will equal 4.1-4.4 million people and 4.7 million people, correspondingly, by 2026.
Today, according to the institute's information, the registered population of the capital equals 2.74 million people, and Kyiv's actual population exceeds 3.1 million people.
The registered population of Kyiv may reach 3.5-3.6 million people by 2050 and remain at this level for some time, the Institute for Demography and Social Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine forecasts.
