Presidents of Ukraine and Russia, Viktor Yanukovych and Dmitry Medvedev will attend a motor rally on the joint border between Bryansk and Sumy regions, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin has said.
"The principal event will be an informal meeting between the two presidents, Dmitry Medvedev and Victor Yanukovych, on September 17-18 during the rally in the border zone between Russia's Bryansk and Ukraine's Sumy region. A meeting in Moscow region will be held later," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
Karasin added that the presidents will take part in the rally. "I still cannot tell you the details, because they are still being developed. But I think they [the presidents) will probably get behind the wheel... This is the general idea," he said.
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry reported earlier that Yanukovych and Medvedev were to meet in the town of Shostka in Sumy region on September 17. The presidential meeting will be dedicated to the St. Petersburg-Moscow-Kyiv motor rally.
