The government of Ukraine is studying the possibility of granting a range of tax benefits to kindergartens, Vice Premier in charge of preparations for and hosting Euro 2012 in Ukraine, Borys Kolesnikov, said when presenting the draft Tax Code in Kyiv on Friday.
"Together with the Finance Ministry we are considering a model under which the land tax for kindergartens is set at zero, and income tax for kindergartens also at zero. Maybe, we will be ready to subsidize interest rates [on credits] for those who wish to build a private kindergarten. Respectively, the operating activities of kindergartens will also be taxed at a zero rate for at least 10 years," Kolesnikov said.
In addition, he said that the head of state ordered the government to build or modernize from 250 to 500 kindergartens every year.
