20:10

The joint voting of the Party of Regions and the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko in the parliament could help complete the constitutional reform, one of the Party of Regions leaders MP Andriy Kliuyev believes.

"Many people say that I am a supporter of a coalition with the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko. In fact, I am a supporter of the completion of the political reform. And one can complete a political reform only having with 300 or more votes in the parliament. Only two political forces can have this number of votes. These are the Party of Regions and the BYT," he said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

He said that these two political forces actually completed the draft amendments to the Constitution. "90% of the draft amendments to the Constitution which the country needs are ready," Kliuyev said.

According to him, the draft law of the reform of the Constitution envisages the parliamentary-presidential form of governing. At the same time, there is no clause on the ways to elect the president yet.

"There are several other unsettled issues. This is the issue of the presidential election and the system of elections of the parliament... There are still up to ten outstanding issues," he said.

When asked, whether it is possible that the Party of Regions and the BYT will be able to reach compromise, he said this depends on the political will of these political forces.

Kliuyev believes that unfinished political reform is behind the political confrontation in the country.
